akhood asked: Someone asked earlier if colored corsets were lingerie. I know of at least one scalding letter to a ladies magazine (always a fascinating read, those letters!) from the early Victorian era complaining that she didn't understand why any girl would spend so much time decorating her underwear since surely only owner and her laundress would ever see them.
greypoppies asked: Corsets are also a fascinating indicator of how different body types and shapes were ideal over the years.
anddoidreamagain asked: To answer the annoymous question: Corsets were a vital part of a woman's everyday life, up until the 1920's, at least. They are a very important part of the evolution of fashion. I personally appreciated seeing the pictures of the corsets. After all, as a woman, I would have worn one if I had been born anytime before the 1920's. Don't like it? Abuse that "unfollow"...
tea-tubes asked: "What's with all the corsets?" Because they were awesome then and still are now. =)
Anonymous asked: The corsets are to lift us up, obviously.
